Web Design
Course: Fundamentals of Design
During the Fall 2022 semester, I was enrolled in IDCC 240: Fundamentals of Design.
Using Canva, I designed a both a to-be-printed menu and mobile website for a made-up restaurant. I was given a list of menu items and then tasked with determining what type of restaurant I wanted to use for the designs as well as a name for the restaurant.
I decided to name this restaurant "The Hidden Gem," which is a blend of casual and fine dining. Dishes lean more towards being more sophisticated and reflective of a fine dining restaurant, but the restaurant itself has a more casual setting. Patrons can be families going out to celebrate an occasion, friends meeting up after work for dinner, or those just looking to enjoy a nice meal at the end of the day.

Course: Web Design I
During the Fall 2021 semester, I was enrolled in IDCC 370: Web Design I: Information Design, Principles and Practices and am loved it!
Using Adobe Photoshop, I created mock-ups of new homepages and webpages for existing companies and brands while staying consistent with their brand identity.
Project 1: MoMA
The image below is a new homepage I designed for the Museum of Modern Art. I used Piet Mondrian’s color blocking style, as MoMA also makes use of blocks in their advertising materials. I also stayed consistent with MoMA's use of bold colors. I chose the tagline "history becomes modern" to depict the contradictory nature of a modern art museum, as there is art in the museum that dates back to pre-1800s. This art might be considered historical but at the time was considered modern, showing how history can also be modern.

Project 2: NASA
The images below are a new homepage, primary navigation page, and secondary navigation page for NASA.
I wanted to reflect the nostalgia that people associate with NASA. NASA, arguably, was in its prime during the Cold War when the U.S. was putting men on the moon and doing the unimaginable. I wanted to portray a young boy seeing what's possible becoming an astronaut for NASA and doing the things that people once thought were unthinkable.
For the primary navigation page, I focused on NASA's current missions. I wanted to keep the theme very simple and portray futuristic and scientific visuals using nods to heads up display graphics.
For the secondary navigation page, I focused on NASA's activities on Mars. I give the user options for what to explore: the future, the science, the rovers, the surface. I also provide some fast facts about Mars, but the idea was to give a lot of options for the users to choose from to explore the site even more.

CWB Website

As the former Communications Intern for Bentley University's Center for Women and Business (CWB), I assisted in editing the office's website.
Using Drupal, I uploaded articles relating to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion efforts; promoted annual conferences; and made general housekeeping edits. I love working for an organization that is dedicated to advancing women in the workplace and creating more equitable workplaces for everyone! I really feel that my work is helping to make an impact at both an individual and organizational level.
The webpage (below) provides information about the CWB's annual Gearing Up Conference, which is dedicated to professionals in the first decade of their career. In addition to editing the Gearing Up webpage, I was the contact for all the conference's sponsors and speakers. This provided me with an amazing opportunity to get real-life events preparation experience!
